Born in Ohio, grown up in South Korea, Aram L. Kim is a New York based illustrator/ fine artist. Since graduated from the School of Visual Arts, Aram has been working for various publications and participating in numerous exhibitions and collaboration projects in growing number of galleries. Currently living in Queens, heart of diversity in New York, with her ever so lovely, but cranky lady cat Horang (meaning Tiger in Korean), Aram draws at home and prints at the printmaking workshop in the city creating her etching pieces.
Among many artists, her favorite artists include Jean-Jacques Sempé, Quentin Blake, Maurice Sendak, Norman Rockewell, Goya and Velasquez. Aram loves the art which tells stories and communicates with viewers and wishes to create art which would bring up viewers’ own stories.
